Alarm system

When it comes to protecting a commercial building, GMS Security relies on reliable, scalable and industry-recognized technologies.

The DSC PowerSeries Neo combines the robustness of a modular wired system with the flexibility of PowerG wireless technology. This hybrid approach makes it possible to design a high-performance, versatile
security solution adapted to the real needs of each building.

Whether for a small business, a retail location or a larger commercial application, PowerSeries Neo offers a complete platform that simplifies installation, expansion and security system management.

What is PowerG technology

DSC PowerG technology is a two-way wireless communication protocol used in alarm systems, including compatible DSC/Qolsys panels. In practice, it is a wireless technology designed to offer superior range, reliability and security compared to older traditional wireless devices.

PowerG is valued because it combines several technical advantages:

Two-way communication

The panel and the device communicate in both directions. The detector doesn’t just “send a signal” — it can also receive confirmations and commands from the panel. This improves supervision, diagnostics and overall system reliability

Long wireless range

According to Johnson Controls, PowerG can communicate up to 4 times farther than older wireless security technologies. This is especially useful in large homes, commercial spaces, buildings with many divisions or locations where running cable is difficult.

Multiple frequencies and anti-interference

PowerG uses Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum technology, meaning communication can shift between channels and frequencies to reduce the risk of interference or jamming. This makes the system more stable in crowded radio environments.

Enhanced security

The protocol uses AES 128-bit encryption, which better protects communications between detectors and the panel against interception or hacking attempts.

Longer battery life

PowerG devices automatically adjust their transmission power based on signal quality. As a result, they only use the energy needed to communicate reliably, helping to extend battery life. Johnson Controls notes a battery life of up to 8 years for certain devices.

Faster installation

Since these are wireless devices, cabling time, drilling and conduit work are significantly reduced. This is particularly advantageous for residential, light commercial or existing building installations, or in locations where running wire is costly or invasive.

Your security, at all times

In short, PowerG is a professional wireless technology for alarm systems — more reliable, more secure and higher-performing than older wireless sensors.
