Standard smoke detectors sound an audible alarm in your home. Supervised GMS detectors also send a signal to our monitoring station, which contacts emergency services even if you’re not there. They also run on the alarm system’s battery, which keeps them active during a power outage.
Yes. Your system is equipped with a backup battery that provides about 24 hours of runtime. Once the power is restored, the battery recharges automatically.
Yes. Most systems allow arming in perimeter mode: the indoor motion detectors are deactivated, and only the door and window contacts stay active. You can move freely inside.
Yes. A cellular transmitter installed in the alarm panel uses the cellular network to communicate with our monitoring station. Some models also let you connect a touch-tone telephone to make and receive calls.
